A much needed weekend escape brought us to The Highlands Estate outside of the small town of Cloverdale, CA. This B&B has everything you could ever want in a relaxing getaway: comfortable rooms, delicious home-cooked breakfast, easy access to wine country, a pool, and even a ridiculously cool home theater (we watched Iron Man 3!). Keep this place on your radar for your next adventure, we will definitely be back!

When you have too many nectarines to possibly eat before they spoil: enter upside down cake. I use a David Leibovitz recipe for any fruit that's underripe or even over ripe. Works like a charm and keeps for a few days(assuming you don't eat it all in one sitting).
